One of the many means of help offered by the University is the South East Asia Woman in Management and Finance Scholarship for students commencing at Macquarie Graduate Schools of Management or Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre.

About the scholarship:

The South East Asia Woman in Management and Finance Scholarship is highly competitive and will be awarded progressively through the year to future applicants to Macquarie University based on academic merit. There are up to 15 scholarships, for students applying to either of these three courses:

About Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre (MAFC):


Since opening in 1980, Macquarie University’s Applied Finance Centre has designed and delivered graduate programs that combine the collective experience of the industry practitioners who deliver its programs with the academic rigour required for an applied understanding of the theories that underpin solutions for ‘real world’ finance issues and complex transactions.


For over 30 years, Macquarie University’s Applied Finance Centre (MAFC) has delivered graduate applied finance education. 5,000 senior alumni in 43 countries. The Master of Applied Finance and Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance are taught face-to-face by experienced industry practitioners. The Graduate Certificate of Finance is a comprehensive online gateway program with 4 start dates each year.


  • Programs designed in consultation with industry: Senior advisory groups have worked with MAFC to deliver specialised Graduate Diplomas of Applied Finance for Wealth Management and Valuation specialists.
  • Finance Professionals is a series of free seminars hosted by the Macquarie Applied Finance Centre. The seminars are designed for professionals working in the finance industry. Covering a range of topics, industry leaders from the financial, professional services and corporate sectors discuss current challenges and opportunities.


The centre also offer students with strong links with industry. MAFC's education partnerships with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) provide high quality graduate education to early-career finance professionals.


MAFC was the first Australian education partner to receive formal recognition from the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute as a Program Partner. This means that our Master of Applied Finance program provide students with a solid grounding in its Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK).


We are also the first University in the Asian region to have a graduate program accredited by the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA). Students who successfully complete the relevant parts of our program are eligible for exemption from the first two PRMIA exams.
